Xutos & Pontapés singing “Aleppo” – Diário de Notícias – Lisbon

New music group is a cry of concern and protest against what is happening in the city of Aleppo, in Syria.

The group Xutos & Pontapés presented today a new song, inspired in the phrases published on Twitter by “Bana Alabebe”, the girl that was describing in this social network that was in the city of Aleppo.

“The letter was composed with the phrases of the Twitter that Bana was there putting and lies flush on a theme that we were looking to develop, with a chorus that invaded me in the ears like a cry,” explains Tim on the press release from the publisher Sony Music. And he adds that the group is working on new themes and does not exclude the case of editing a new album, but I took advantage of the day in which it celebrates its 38 years to show Aleppo.

The video clip of this theme was done by Rui Lourenço, and by the team of the Popular Jump:

This is the letter:

“Aleppo
I know what to do,
I know what to say,
and I’m not home
wounded and with fear
I have not slept in some time
under fire
without a shelter
every minute seems to the death

- I want to live!

snow falls
I’m sick
I don’t have clean water
and I’m not remedies
gets worse
every hour that passes
goes on killing
faster than a than a bomb
Aleppo, Aleppo
every minute seems to the death

- I want to live, do not want to die!

I seek shelter among the rubble
the shadows bring
wounded in shoulders
and suddenly
click a AK
vomits capsules while the forest
– I want to live, do not want to die!

Aleppo, Aleppo
when does it end the killing
Aleppo, Aleppo
decapitaram up hope
Aleppo, Aleppo
tell me, thou, if thou be able
Aleppo, Aleppo
as if he sang for peace”
