“We realize that this area is not yet mature, there are more festivals, small, and that there are others who disappear, or because they have not sustained financial support or lack of capacity, “said the official.
According to APORFEST, the Portuguese calendar has about 150 music festivals. Among those who have greater visibility in the Portuguese public, the US Primavera Sound is one of the first to be held, between 4:06 June at the City Park in Porto.
In the coming weeks and until September, there are proposals for almost every taste, from fado to world music, from pop rock to reggae, from world music to electronics, with hundreds of concerts and the movement of thousands of artists from north to south.
There are festivals that add up to more than ten editions, with the World Music Festival in Sines, with the 17th edition, in July, the Super Bock Super Rock, who is serving 20 years in July, mudando- if Meco to the Park of Nations, Lisbon, or Vodafone Paredes de Coura, from 1993 to show music Minho location.
Still others are in first editions and to consolidate, as the case Ribeira, dedicated to fado in June in Porto, or Sol da Caparica, only Portuguese music, in August in Coast Caparica.
In Alive, which fulfills the ninth edition in July, the promenade in Algés, soon became one of the biggest pop rock festivals in the Greater Lisbon area, winning awards and recognition in the international press .
Ricardo Bramão said he was unaware the economic value of music festivals, the impact at each location where it is held and the investments involved on a global level.
“We are working on a scientific basis to try to understand this aspect. We have been able to trace the Festival Goer profile, we realize the size of the sector, we do not have a validated scientific basis with data on funding, sponsors, ticket, support, “said the director.

Regarding the profile of those attending music festivals, the APORFEST launched in late 2014, the second edition of a national survey and learned that are mainly young people between 17 and 20 years, and students who spend up a maximum of 20 euros per festival (61 percent of respondents).
The poster is the main reason for choosing a particular festival (77 percent), but viewers also value the price of tickets (59 percent), the feeling of security and well-being (53 Percent).
According to the survey, 49 percent of the regulars music festivals would like to see improved infrastructure and 47 percent think the same, but on the price of tickets.
In 2014, on top of the preferences of viewers was the Alive, the Super Bock Super Rock, the Paredes de Coura, Rock in Rio and the Primavera Sound.
Ninety-five percent of respondents have a positive opinion about the festivals and 72 percent want to go to a festival abroad.
