This year there are more music festivals – TVI24

The panorama of the music festivals account this year with more events and smaller, but the sector still needs more professionalism, he told the Lusa agency’s director APORFEST association, Ricardo Bramão.

Established in 2014, the Portuguese Association of Music Festivals (APORFEST) has been analyzing the area of music events – starting now in force with the arrival of summer – already traced the profile of Portuguese spectator and promotes training sector agents.

“We realize that this area is not yet mature, there are more festivals, small, and that there are others who disappear, or because they have not sustained financial support or lack of capacity, “said the official.

According to APORFEST, the Portuguese calendar has about 150 music festivals. Among those who have greater visibility in the Portuguese public, the US Primavera Sound is one of the first to be held, between 4:06 June at the City Park in Porto.

In the coming weeks and until September, there are proposals for almost every taste, from fado to world music, from pop rock to reggae, from world music to electronics, with hundreds of concerts and the movement of thousands of artists from north to south.

There are festivals that add up to more than ten editions, with the World Music Festival in Sines, with the 17th edition, in July, the Super Bock Super Rock, who is serving 20 years in July, mudando- if Meco to the Park of Nations, Lisbon, or Vodafone Paredes de Coura, from 1993 to show music Minho location.

Still others are in first editions and to consolidate, as the case Ribeira, dedicated to fado in June in Porto, or Sol da Caparica, only Portuguese music, in August in Coast Caparica.

In Alive, which fulfills the ninth edition in July, the promenade in Algés, soon became one of the biggest pop rock festivals in the Greater Lisbon area, winning awards and recognition in the international press .

Ricardo Bramão said he was unaware the economic value of music festivals, the impact at each location where it is held and the investments involved on a global level.

“We are working on a scientific basis to try to understand this aspect. We have been able to trace the Festival Goer profile, we realize the size of the sector, we do not have a validated scientific basis with data on funding, sponsors, ticket, support, “said the director.

About panorama of festivals, Ricardo Bramão explains that” there is a will to do festivals, but the difficulty is can keep them, especially the smaller ones, or because it fails either support, or because there is insufficient knowledge to optimize the work. ”

Regarding the profile of those attending music festivals, the APORFEST launched in late 2014, the second edition of a national survey and learned that are mainly young people between 17 and 20 years, and students who spend up a maximum of 20 euros per festival (61 percent of respondents).

The poster is the main reason for choosing a particular festival (77 percent), but viewers also value the price of tickets (59 percent), the feeling of security and well-being (53 Percent).

According to the survey, 49 percent of the regulars music festivals would like to see improved infrastructure and 47 percent think the same, but on the price of tickets.

In 2014, on top of the preferences of viewers was the Alive, the Super Bock Super Rock, the Paredes de Coura, Rock in Rio and the Primavera Sound.

Ninety-five percent of respondents have a positive opinion about the festivals and 72 percent want to go to a festival abroad.

Serralves in Festival kicks off with “best Saturday ever” – Journal News

“In fact, the public is flocking in a very meaningful way,” considered the director, emphasizing that, about to “go through puberty,” the Serralves in Festa has grown to “multiply almost four ‘the flow of visitors that went from” 40,000 people in the first edition, to 140,000 in 2014. “

More relevant to Odete Patrick, is that “the Serralves em Festa opened the park to the community, demystified the way to Serralves, made it easy” over the dozen editions in the event to bet on the mission of “educating for art.”

Among trees and music, through performance of various branches of contemporary art, who walks the roads of Serralves gardens in Fiesta is almost always confronted with artists that have never heard of.

Setting a festival to an audience of several classes and ages is to Pedro Rocha, music programmer Serralves em Festa, “a huge challenge”, but that does not imply concessions the level popularity of the musical selection, or “concessions to the level of work” that Serralves usually has.

“We always try to maintain a line of programming that is consistent with what we do during the year,” said Pedro Rocha , pointing out the “experimental vein” of the musical selection, which is accompanied by “proposals designed to please but also to arouse curiosity” of the public to new art forms.

For the musical director, part of the allure of Serralves em Festa lies in “opening people to come in an expectation to see what you do not know or see during the year” in the context of contemporary art.

.

Tomorrowland in your team brings together a multitude of brilliant talents of the “new generation” of Hollywood entertainers to try to recover an idea: the “wonderful” that gone missing with progressive submission to the power of super-hero. At the controls of this journey to a parallel universe that seems to fulfill all the perfect post-World War II dreams we find Brad Bird, one of the animators of Pixar (author of The Incredibles and Ratatouille ) and Damon Lindelof, JJ Abrams regular accomplice from the Lost times. And in the story of a rebellious teenager respingona (excellent Britt Robertson) a pin “magic” drags a “wonderful” adventure in search of a utopian city, it’s all vintage Spielberg – say, the Close Encounters of Third Degree to the Jurassic Park – which openly calls. That alone would come to watch Tomorrowland that, moreover, draws on its futuristic utopia Tomorrows singing a will to fight passivity and negativity of our times, to raise the standard of imagination and energy. In this respect, incidentally, also we do not walk away from the Interstellar Christopher Nolan, who was also the long-term strategy the center of its history, even though far more serious way. The question, in short, is: how to save the world from itself

The answer I give Bird and Lindelof, however, is far from complete or even achieved. Assuming as a family film in Disney tradition, Tomorrowland is an ambitious and schizophrenic animal, which starts the match at all gas grill but do not have proof motor to endure the race. Starts as a juvenile adventure halfway between ET and its direct disciple Super 8 , with a series of retro-futuristic eye winks and steampunk made with obvious obsessive chrome passion. And sinks gradually in a sincere but laborious entertainment where the spectacular starts to look more “wool over the eyes” than an integral part of the fabric of the film – is incomprehensible coming from a filmmaker of animation, where the narrative is worked to exhaustion, leave so loose end and both hole in the argument. Tomorrowland starts at so many to look like a huge campaign of self-promotion to the attractions of Disney parks that are to come, more than a movie.

This does not invalidate it here feel an enormous sincerity in his invocation of the power of imagination and optimism in their desire to escape the banal scheme blockbuster special effects. It is this contradictory schizophrenia between corporate capitalist product and praise the human spirit, amplified by genuine visual ingenuity that Bird and his team regularly take the hat that makes Tomorrowland interesting, even if failed.
