The Terminal of Leixoes wins the prize from ArchDaily – Diário de Notícias – Lisbon

The Cruise Terminal of Port of Leixões, by Luís Pedro Silva, already a winner of the prize the prize international architecture and design of the “AZAwards”, won today in the category Architecture Public award Edifífio of the Year 2017, promoted by the international platform Archdaily, dedicated to contemporary architecture.

among the 14 categories in which it divides this international award, there were three other projects Portuguese selected: House, Cable Villa, designed by architecture studio Spaceworkers (category “Houses”), the SH House of Paul Martins, Sever do Vouga (Rehabilitation), the project and The Dovecote of the authorship of AZO – Sequeira Architects Associated, in Soutelo, (“Architecture of Small-Scale”).

Of the universe the initial 3 thousand projects was about a hundred signed by architects Portuguese in the race for the award and the finalists were chosen by public vote on the website online of Archdaily,.

In last year’s edition, there were three projects, the Portuguese distinguished: Cella Bar, in Madalena (Pico), the Home of Guimarães and the Community Kitchen of the Lands of Costa da Caparica are due to vote on ArchDaily.

The finalist projects are chosen by each of the 14 categories, covering areas such as sport, culture, hospitality, homes, rehabilitation, offices and commercial spaces.

Founded in 2008, Archdaily is a platform ‘online’ information and dissemination of architecture, based in New York city, which accounts for 350 thousand visits daily and yearly awards this prize to projects that stand out for innovation, spatial, social, material, and technique.
