Andréia Horta is the perfect Menace in the first trailer of the film ‘Elis’ (VIDEO) – the Brazil Post

Elis, a film about the career of one of the greatest singers from Brazil, Elis Regina (1945-1982), won its first trailer on Wednesday (19).

Directed by debutant Hugo Silver, the cinebiografia depicts some of the more major passages of the career and personal life of the star that was also known as Menace.

in Addition to portraying the importance of the singer rio grande do sul in the process of the birth and consolidation of the MPB, the long-played by actress Andréia Horta also shows the rocky marriage with Ronaldo Bôscoli (Gustavo Machado), the arrival of motherhood, and the criticism of Elis to the Military Regime in Brazil.

"The only thing I want to do in my life is to be able to sing, man. Only what I want to do. I want to sing", says Andréia Horta in one of the passages of the trailer, in a performance that impresses.

The acting of Andrea, including, yielded the kikito prize for Best Actress at the 44th Festival of the Lawn. The film took two awards: Best Film by the popular jury and Best editing for James Feliciano.

The cast also counts with Caco Ciocler, Zécarlos Machado, Julio Andrade, Rodrigo Pandolfo, Elizabeth Wilker, Icaro Silva and Natallia Rodrigues.

Elis debuts in theaters November 24.
