John Nash, the mathematician and Nobel Economics who was portrayed by Russell Crowe in the film A Beautiful Mind , died on Saturday in a motorway accident in New Jersey.


                     


                          Nash, 86, and Alicia wife, 82, were in a taxi on the New Jersey Turnpike, one of the highways with more traffic in the United States, when the driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to overtake a car and was hit the rail protection.

Police believe the couple did not put seat belts, since the two They were designed car. According to a newspaper in New Jersey, the driver survived the crash and was hospitalized without his life in danger.

On Tuesday, John Forbes Nash Jr. in Norway received the Prize of mathematics Abel from the hands of King Harold, along with colleague Louis Nirenberg, for his work on partial differential equations. According Nirenberg, who knew Nash since the 1950s, the couple had just arrived in Norway and was returning from the airport taxi.

Nash was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1994 for his research in game theory, the analysis of mathematical models that underpin the strategic decision making.
