Céline Dion is in mourning. Her husband succumbed to cancer – Daily News – Lisbon

René Angélil succumbed “after a long and courageous fight” against the disease

The husband of Canadian singer Céline Dion died on the morning of Thursday, victim of a cancer in the throat. René Angélil, 73, was the man who catapulted the Titanic movie theme interpreter to fame, taking as his manager and taking charge of his career.

“Angélil, 73 , died of throat cancer in his home in Henderson [Las Vegas], being under the care of a physician, “it read a statement from the Forensic Medicine department of Clark County quoted by People magazine. His death was thus seen as motivated by natural causes there is no reason to undertake any investigation, stressed the department.

The ad Angélil’s death yesterday also released a statement by the PR agency that represented, referring to his “long and courageous fight against cancer” and advancing that “the family asks that their privacy be respected at this time.”

This was the third time that René Angélil was stricken with cancer. Syrian and Lebanese mother of son , Angélil had a short career as a pop singer in the 1960s, belonging to the band The Baronets who graduated with his childhood friends Pierre Labelle and Jean Beaulne. In 1981, Angélil heard a demo of Céline Dion and was surrendered to his powerful voice , while not resting failed to become their manager. The 26 years between the two did not prevent their marriage in 1994. René and Céline had three children, Rene-Charles, 15, and Nelson and Eddy twins, 5. Angélil also has three children, already adults , from his first marriage, Anne-Marie, Patrick and Jean-Pierre.
