The Cure In The Meo Arena In Mode Nostalgia – Cinnamon & Hortela

A capillary structure has lost vitality and gave in to the invasion of the ash. However, the essential remains: the tone , the attitude and the tunes that a whole generation has heard, at night, in the room. Four decades of the career of The Cure, was, yesterday, in about three hours of work, in the Meo Arena. A return to the past in a nostalgic trip.

earlier dates, we knew that the night would be long. The The Cure Tour 2016 is present more than thirty subjects, always with the alignments different. New songs, but above all, a return to the past through records marked in the course of The Cure.

it Was an age of above forty who responded to the call. Colleagues of the lyceum, of the portfolio, of pain of soul. There is much that they hung the black robes in the closet. But there are those who have returned to upload yesterday, in pencil black.

the marks on The clock of time are visible in Robert Smith, the iconic singer, known for white skin, hair scruffy, lips (badly) painted a bright red. The essential, the music, keeps the legend alive. Themes eternal, that marked a generation, were played and sung, with a look grinning, head tilted, hands up to the face in the pose and the smile of someone who has made, or is to make any.

Opened with "Open", 1992, from the album Wish and at the end he heard a shy "Forced". Simple way, to enter by the great door, continues with "All I Want", the times, the more commercial of Kiss Me. Kiss Me Kiss Me. The following is the "Push" and the screens in the background projecting the image of the Meo Arena, collected from a point behind the drummer. We are facing ourselves and all on the stage with The Cure for this festive evening. With "In Between Day"s reaches the first big chorus of the night. And we entered a roller coaster of emotions, with the sequence of "Pictures of You", "A Night Like This" and "The Walk". By the middle, the music is more recent (so last decade) are a kind of interval, to the malta circular, and go to the bar.

Again the shake with "The Caterpillar" and whistling with "Lovesong". 1989 becomes, for moments, a date so close! We got to the end of the first part, with "End", and already spent an hour and a half concert. Relief. We know that there is still a long way to go.

img-8798The first encore opens with the brand new "Step Into the Light", still no log in the album.

Robert Smith frees himself finally of the guitar and grab the flute in "Want". Forget the performance, disastrous, and let’s stay by the intention… to retreat after the gothic period of the band and to the album Seventen Seconds with "Play for Today" and continues with the idyllic "Forest", which in this scenario turns to green. This range of beautiful and soturnas songs, "Charlotte Sometimes", but says that you can’t have everything, isn’t it? A duel of musicians Simon Gallup, concludes this part.

The second encore opens full of color and sparkles. "Fascination Street" puts the Meo Arena to dance. The following is the "Freakshow" and the Robert Smith takes on the name of the theme, to accompany the music with a rattle and a stick. "Friday I’m In Love" will be the big commercial success for the band and all are standing and singing and dancing, the audience to the last row of the balcony 2. "Just Like Heaven" and "Boys Don’t Cry ” " saddle this sequence of mega-successes that could not be missing in this alignment.

pausing to breathe. The age does not forgive, and the back is already asking for a rest. In screens, we design a web. We recognize the first chords of "Lullaby" and Robert Smith, who has already dropped the guitars and writhes on the stage, as if he had spiders up by the body. "Hot Hot Hot" is another of the themes to ask the choir.

"Let’s go to bed" singer is approaching finally of the public and receives an amazing ovation. All waves and receive back a shy smile. "Close to You" gives us the spontaneous moment of the night, when Robert Smith rushes to embrace the keyboard player and does burst the audience into laughter.

"Why Can’t I Be You" is the farewell, with the singer finished gasping for breath, with the hands near the throat. Traverses the stage from one end to the other in way of thanks and realizes that it is even a farewell.

it Was a night that unfolded in the format of a best of with songs from all periods of the band, that will have brought many good memories. Long live the king!
