In a statement, the group of Francisco Pinto Balsemão states that the agreement, which comes into force in January next year and end in December 2018, “will enable SIC benefit from the growth in the number of Vodafone subscribers”.
“Under this agreement, the SIC will distribute the SIC Notícias channel SIC Radical, SIC Mulher, and for the first time, the SIC Guys channel, thus opening another operator”, says Impresa .
“After recently celebrating its second anniversary, the SIC Guys channel will now be distributed by Vodafone, joining thus the US, and so will expand its audience to more than 400,000 new homes” he added.
“This is a very important for the Impresa group agreement allowing to strengthen the leadership that the SIC and its thematic channels have on the national scene,” said Peter Norton, CEO of Impresa, quoted in statement.
The SIC, as TVI, is in talks with Meo, PT Portugal (Altice group) for the distribution of their channels on the platform, and the RTP to agree on last month.
