When Metallica played in Canada last September, drummer Lars Ulrich told Le Journal de Quebec that would emerge a new album in mid-2016.

But guitarist Kirk Hammett later told radio station WEDG, Buffalo (New York) that the album would only leave “at best” in early 2017.

The musician said that the album would follow the line Death Magnetic , considered a return of Metallica to their heavy roots after a few more experimental periods.

Metallica helped create in the 80s, the genre thrash metal , renowned for its aggressiveness and focus on musicality, in contrast to the glam most exuberant metal and influenced by pop.
