Apartment Jimi Hendrix will open to the public – TVI24

Jimi Hendrix The apartment where he lived guitarist US American Jimi Hendrix between 1968 and 1969 in London, will open to the public starting next year, refer to Associated Press .

The guitarist lived at number 23 of Book Street, which is located in the upscale neighborhood of Mayfer, next to the house where the composer Frideric Handel lived for 36 years in the mid eighteenth century.

The Handel museum, which has both properties, initiated last year rehabilitation works of the former home of the musician, a venture which cost about 3.3 million euros. The goal is to recreate the atmosphere of Jimi times.

“It’s hard to find another building in the world with such a large concentration of musical geniuses,” said Alistair Starnack, president of the museum.

The house opens to the public in February 2016 and tickets will be on sale from next Monday.

In 2011, the journal Rolling Stone regarded him as “the best guitarist ever.” Jimi Hendrix began his musical career in the United States, but shot to stardom after forming the Jimi Hendrix Experience, in London. He died in 1970.
