Vhils with Ana Moura, and bumper cars? Is in Imminent. – The public.en

Art with Vhils, Bordalo II, ±MaisMenos±, or Wasted Rita, music with Ana Moura, Linda Martini, Dead Combo, or Halloween and also farturas, track, bumper cars and a ferris wheel, as in any popular fair, but with recreations of the character art. It is this weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, at the Municipal Garden of Oeiras, with day tickets at a symbolic price – two euros – and capacity is limited to about two thousand people per day. It is the first time the Festival Imminent, multidisciplinary event with concerts, sessions, DJ, installations, artistic interventions, and performance. "A way of celebrating urban culture and its new agents the visual and musical", sums up Alexandre Farto (Vhils), the curator of the event.

The idea was to create an event accessible, open to all, in a public space that is interactive, that shows what is happening at this time in the urban culture of the Portuguese, creating bridges that unite the new generation of creative and traditional culture, reinventing a bit of the popular festivals. The achievement was possible from from a combination of different energies, between the producers Adilson Lima and Guilherme Salvador, Vhils and the gallery Underdogs, the WOW in the production and the Solid Dogma in the communication. "The fact that you have been the Oeiras city council to host the project pleased us, because there is a history of involvement with the graffiti," says Alexander, "and it was here that was established one of the first awards of its kind in Portugal, which turned out to be an appreciation for this form of creative expression."

at The entrance of the space will be a ferris wheel, a power zone and the usual, in any fair, stalls, target shooting or farturas. "The only difference is that we asked the artists to interact with these devices," says Alexander. There will be containers processed in the store, with editions of the artists present. An old carriage metro claimed to be the subject of an artistic intervention and a kind of sculpture park for which they were designed several pieces. On the side of the garden is a greenhouse cold where are pieces of the artist David Oliveira, known for the subtlety as creates animal sculptures in wire.

The phrases sarcastic Rita Gomes, or is, Wasted Rita, the interventions of Miguel Januário (±MaisMenos±) that stimulate critical thinking, the installations of large-scale, created from waste, Bordalo II, the sculptures by Vhils, or the geometrical structure and the patterns multicolor from the Spanish Okuda are other presences striking in the space, at the side of different interventions created by artists diverse as Add Fuel, Maria Imaginário, Mário Belém, Pedrita, Akacorleone or André da Loba.

Among the guest artists are also pioneers of the graffiti in Portugal, how to Obey, because, in the view of Alexander, his action was decisive in the path that some of the urban artists of the new generations have come to follow after you. "Opened doors, and at the time that were more active not always had the recognition due, not between pairs, so that his legacy should be commended," he says.

On Friday and Saturday, the doors open at 16pm and close at two in the morning, while on Sunday the activities take place between the 14h and 20h. In the field of music there will be concerts and sessions DJ’s, taking place the last on a track cart shocks rearranged to the effect.

Being the hip-hop culture one of the major references of Alexander, could not miss a series of names linked to the typology, Sam The Kid (Sunday) the DJ Glue (Friday), Chullage (Saturday) the DJ Ride (Friday). But there are also figures conotadas with the sounds of dancing luso-african of the Great Lisbon, such as Firmness, Marfox (Saturday) or Beat (Friday), or electronic pop intimate as Francis Dale (Saturday) and Isaura (Sunday), which will be presented live.

The stage where there will take place the concerts, set among the trees, you will also receive the emotional rock of the Linda Martini (Friday), the sound mass tribal of Clubs (Friday), the hip-hop cavernous Halloween (Saturday), the sounds of the instrumental of the Dead Combo, the music of dance of the Thunder & Co or the fado-the song of Ana Moura. "The criterion was to choose the names with which I identify and that are relevant in urban music today. It is a choice of eclectic, with some weight in the branches of hip-hop, but where it is also the Ana Moura, who is a singer that manages to create bridges between fado and other genres."
