Since 1931 the August in Portugal was not so hot – Destak

The last August has recorded the highest maximum temperature since 1931, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), with thermometers reaching 44 in some areas of the center of the country.

“in the average temperature was the 5th August warmest behind 2003, 1949, 2010 and 2005. the value of the minimum temperature was slightly above normal, position 19th in the 86 years considered” adds the note published in the IPMA website.

on that note the institute said that in August, “the average air temperature, 24.2 ° C was 2.0 ° C above the normal value 1971-2000″.
