The first Festival of the Book of Bethlehem, which begins today at the Palace of Belém, in Lisbon, is dedicated only to literature in Portuguese, told Lusa Bruno Pacheco agency, the Portuguese Association of Publishers and Booksellers (APEL).

the Festival of the Book of Bethlehem is the realization of a challenge in May to APEL by the President, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, in order to conduct an event in the gardens of the Palace of Belém, around books and reading.

“it is an interesting initiative because it will turn more attention to the sector,” he told Lusa Bruno Pacheco, secretary general of the APEL, awaiting the presence of about 30,000 people .
