ERC condemns TVI by news of Banif closure – Observer

The Regulatory Authority for the Media (ERC) condemned unanimously the television station TVI by the famous footer announcing the imminent closure of Banif bank that would be the subject of a resolution some days later. The decision has not yet been formally announced – it’s just the public that there was a final decision on August 31 – but the Business advances that TVI has been ordered and will have to transmit in direct, the conclusions of the regulator.

There was a preliminary decision that requires Queluz station Low broadcasting in prime time, a block that will display the findings of the regulator. According to the Business , this decision has become final in the ERC meeting on 31 August and the regulator will fail TVI for not having contacted all parties involved before moving forward with the news.

One of the parts that have not been contacted was Banif itself, which the officials of the bank (extinct) will have been surprised by the news, advanced in a footnote for a football discussion program. Still, in parliament, Sérgio Figueiredo, director of TVI, said that the station moved to “sufficient, credible and true.” The director of TVI, contacted for News Business , to no avail comments because the conviction has not been communicated to him.
