Thousands of `motards’ received the blessing at the Fatima Shrine (with photos) – Thousands of bikers, from various parts of the country, concentrated on Sunday, in Fatima, for the customary blessing the bikes, now laden with symbolism for those who share the passion for motorcycling.
The initiative, promoted by three bikers groups also had supportive nature, with participants having to contribute food and toiletries in favor of Community Life and Peace of Fatima.
For José Bastos, motard 44, born in Vila Nova de Gaia, regular in blessing of the bikes, this year’s edition surpassed expectations on a large scale.
“I come here for many years, perhaps since its inception in Portugal. Facebook had predicted about five thousand people, but the truth is that here appear to be three times or four times, ‘says the BALL Joseph, who headed to Fatima accompanied by friends and also members of groups Skulls and Fast Generation.
As for David Hunt, born in the UK but currently living in the Algarve, this was the first of many appearances: “I am not Catholic. I have come to Fatima, above all because of living. I am amazed. It is a world apart. ”
