Portuguese musicians join in solidarity concert for refugees – Digital Journal

 
 More than a dozen Portuguese musicians acts today in Lisbon, in a espectáulo fundraising to support the reception of refugees in Portugal.
  
 
 

The show “Lisbon welcomes” takes place from 21:00 at the Teatro Municipal São Luiz and involves Sérgio Godinho, Jorge Palma, Camané and Dead Combo, Sara Tavares, Cristina Branco, Marcia and Rita Redshoes, Carlos Mendes, Samuel Úria and Carlão.

The spectacle of the ticket proceeds will go entirely in favor of the associations involved in refugee hosting operation in Portugal.

The concert will be broadcast on Direct in RTP.

According to an agreement reached last week by the European Union, Portugal is expected to receive up to 4,500 refugees a total of 160,000 people.

The Platform Support for Refugees announced that by the end of this month will have a survey of institutions available to welcome migrants and also commit to support access to health, education and work.

The National Association of Portuguese Municipalities also said it would make an inquiry the town councils to meet the “concrete availability” for receiving refugees
