Chinese Cinema in Lisbon
The feast of Chinese Cinema displays, starting today in film and Ideal Cinematheque, 32 films, 12 of which contemporary
The first Festival of Chinese Cinema, taking place between now and September 30, opens the Cinematheque with the premiere of the film “If the mountains depart,” the filmmaker Jia Zhang-ke. Cinema Ideal hosts 12 contemporary films, including also in premiere, “The Killer”, the latest work of Hou Hsiao-Hsien. This film was awarded the best achievement award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The Portuguese Cinematheque from 17 to 30 September will be shown 20 classic.
Before the first film, it is scheduled a press conference with the Secretary of State for Culture, Jorge Barreto Xavier, director of the China Cinematheque and a representative of the Embassy of the PRC in Portugal.
