August 6th. The last day of Jon Stewart on the “Daily Show” – Express

The date is now official. Jon Stewart announced on Monday that it will present the last time the “Daily Show” on the 6th of August, without any further details on the ultimate program under his command.

After having announced on 11 February that would leave the leadership of the “Daily Show” – which provided since 1999 – the 52 year old presenter had said he should leave the program between July and the end of this year.

The satirical US presenter also noted at the end of talk show which is running a contest for a fan can watch the recording of his last program .

No advance the release date of his successor Trevor Noah, Jon Stewart suggested only that will no longer be covering the presidential candidates for the 2016 elections.

As for his successor, the choice fell on the South African Trevor Noah, 31, -. that first appeared on the “Daily Show” as a correspondent in December 2014

The young comedian and actor has been the target of criticism because of comments on Twitter, considered little humorous and “insensitive” by Internet users. Jon Stewart is out, however, in defense of his replacement, which is still little known in the US. “Trevor Noah earn your trust and respect, as I got your confidence and respect, or not.”
