Agustina Bessa-Luís Eduardo Lourenço wins award – Daily News – Lisbon

The announcement was made at the end of the jury meeting, the rector of the University of Coimbra, João Gabriel Silva. Set up by the Iberian Studies Center (ERC) in 2004, the prize is intended to reward individuals or institutions with relevant intervention under the cooperation and Iberian culture.

According to João Gabriel Silva, spokesman the jury, the Agustina Bessa-Luís writer is “one of the finest examples of Portuguese Literature, but in the universal reality of the twentieth century.”
