Show tribute to the Gulbenkian Ballet debuts today in the … – Daily News – Funchal

The National Ballet Company (BNC) will honor, from today, in Lisbon, the legacy of Ballet Gulbenkian with a show that meets four choreographies, one world premiere, created by Vasco Wellenkamp.

Titled “BG”, the show will debut today at 21:00, and will be submitted by March 29, the Camões Theatre, Lisbon, with part of the debut “Is What is Star?” Choreographer Vasco Wellenkamp

The Gulbenkian Ballet Group (later known as Ballet Gulbenkian) was born from the Ballet Experimental Group -. directed between 1961 and 1964 by Norman Dixon – which belonged to the Portuguese Center Ballet, institution funded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
