The English musician, living in France, Benjamin Clementine, one of the great revelations of this year thanks to the album At Least for Now , was confirmed on Tuesday to perform at the Super Bock Super festival Rock on 18 July.

Further confirmation was the Brazilian Rodrigo Amarante, author of the album Horse , one of the most celebrated last year. The Brazilian also touches on 18 July, thus returning to the Portuguese stages after last year have acted more than once in Lisbon and Porto.

Now Benjamin Clementine is a world premiere. The singer, composer and pianist of 25 years is unique. In February, we wrote in the PUBLIC Ípsilon supplement that “especially live impressed by magnetizing presence by the great vocal lyricism, the hybrid music with anything from classical, jazz, gospel or light French song.”

His voice is majestic, sublimating autobiographical lyrics that speak of loneliness, and the music is timeless. Do not breathe the air of time. Create your time. You can name influences (Tom Waits, Nina Simone or Jacques Brel), but it is hardly believable that from them easier to place it.

In recent months was gaining more and more admirers. Just this Tuesday, Miguel Esteves Cardoso, devotes its daily news. He is English, the son of Ghanaian parents, but it was when he moved to Paris six years ago that began to make an impression, playing in the most unusual places. – Metro corridors, wedding parties or bars of ill repute hotels

Now debut in Portugal at the Super Bock Super Rock, which takes place on 16, 17 and 18 July in various spaces of the Nations Park in Lisbon, and this time confirmed names like Sting, Noel Gallagher, Perfume Genius, Blur, Savages, Florence & amp; The Machine or Franz Ferdinand.
