Died at 104 years Luise Rainer actress – Journal News

Luise Rainer, of Jewish origin and born in Germany, was one of the American film stars in the 1930s, after signing a contract with the Metro- Goldwyn-Mayer in Hollywood.

The actress became famous for being the first woman to win the Oscar better representation in two consecutive years in 1936 and 1937, with the film “The Great Ziegfeld” and “blessed Land”.

After these two awards, Luise Rainer career will have lost glow in the following years . Many claim that she was a victim of the “curse of the Oscars”, came into conflict with Louis B. Meyer, studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, moved from Los Angeles to New York and the last film that starred already was in 1943, in “Hostages”.

After that, Luise Rainer had specific interests in film and in television series, but did not return to glow in the 1930s.
