Go as Well as operates 22 restaurants specialized in healthy food in Portugal through the brand Go Natural
The Sonae MC reached an agreement with the shareholders of Go as Well as for the purchase of 51 percent of this company, which owns the restaurant chain Go Natural, announced today the company.
“Sonae entered into an agreement for the acquisition of a majority position in the company that holds the Go Natural brand, a pioneer and a reference in the catering industry healthy”, the company said, in a statement, adding that “the implementation of this transaction is subject to approval from the Competition Authority, and is also dependent on the production of a set of agreements with third parties”.
The Go Well operates 22 restaurants specialized in healthy food in Portugal exclusively through the brand Go Natural, having registered last year a turnover of 6.4 million euros.
“This acquisition is aligned with the ambition of Sonae MC to increase their presence in Health & Wellness, in particular in the segment of healthy eating, and is based on the strategic pillar of Sonae: strengthen and leverage its asset base and key competences”, says the company, which did not reveal the value of the operation.
This acquisition “will allow to drive the food retail Sonae to reinforce its focus on delivering solutions tailored to the healthy lifestyle and Go Natural leverage new growth opportunities”.
according To the company, “part of a strategy of Sonae MC bet in the area of health and well-being, including healthy food, responding to the rising consumer demand for proposals that promote a healthy lifestyle and contribute to an improvement in the quality of life”.
In partnership with the current shareholders of Go Natural “let’s boost their gains and to promote new opportunities of growth and development,” said the chief executive of Sonae MC, Luís Moutinho, quoted in the statement.
Joana and Diogo Martorell, the founders of Go Natural, point out that “the partnership with Sonae mark a turning point in the growth strategy of the Go Natural, allowing you to not only add value to the range of competencies, but also enhance an acceleration of growth and creation of new opportunities for the brand”.
The Go Natural is a Portuguese brand created in 2004.
