The romance between Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford, and princess Leia, Carrie Fisher, was one of the most adored by the public. Long wondered if the love between the two characters was not extended to real life. For decades the actress has denied involvement – because he had, at the time of the filming of Star Wars, 19 years. Less 14 than Ford.
But in November this year, Fisher published the book The Princess Diarist (The Princess diaries) where, finally, does the revelation that all were anticipating: a case between Han Solo and Princess Leia in real life. However, the romance was not as glamorous and passionate as on the big screen.
In fact, the actress admits, kept the secret for so many years by shame: Harrison Ford was, at the time of the filming for the movie and during the case among the two, married and the father of two children. But also because you have found a diary of your times of adolescence and decided to transport it to the book.
There account that Harrison Ford, 33-year-old, seduced for the first time in the back seat of a taxi as I was very drunk. From then on, the passion of Fisher Ford grew up. But the reverse has not happened. Incidentally, the actress reports that the weekends were reserved for sex between the two, but, during the week and the shooting, they acted almost as if not to know each other.
"If Harrison was unable to realize that I had feelings for him (at least five, but sometimes up to seven) so he was not as smart as I thought he was – as I knew that he was. This is why I loved him, and he allowed it. This is the calculation but the next one that can form four decades later," writes Fisher.
The writings found in his diary of a teen show that a Fisher often sarcastic and ironic, but also distressed, a time when he was subjected to therapy for the bipolar disorder that had been diagnosed.
The irony and sarcasm is even present when the actress describes Harrison: "Just too beautiful. Not. Not. More than that. It seemed that he could lead the charge in the battle, take the hill, win the duel, be the leader of the world, gluten-free, all without a drip of sweat". But also remembers him as someone distant emotionally, monosyllabic and a little upset.
in addition To the relationship with Harrison Ford, the most discussed theme of the book, Fisher tells us that the trilogy Star Wars became part of herself: "Star Wars was and is my job. You cannot give me fire and I’ll never be able to resign".
But in the penultimate chapter of the work, the actress attacks the conventions of Star Wars where the fans mask of your favourite character, chase autograph and pay for all of this: "I Was caught alive in this barafunda enough times to want to be dead."
