Civil protection has recorded 400 instances due to bad weather – Porto Canal

Lisbon, 03 jul (Lusa) — The Civil Protection registered today about 400 occurrences due to bad weather, more than half of which flooding of the public road, mobilizing more than 1,300 firefighters and nearly 500 vehicles, said to Lusa the deputy of operations national.

The district of Lisbon was the most affected, registering, 161 occurrences), followed by Setúbal, with 74, and Santarém, with 67 cases, according to the balance of Civil Protection carried out at about 23:30 today, said Miguel Cruz.

Of the occurrences recorded since 08:00 today, 266 were flooding the public road and a 52-drops from the trees.

In total, were mobilized 1.354 effective and 499 vehicles.

According to the deputy of operations national, the most critical period was recorded between the time of lunch until the middle of the afternoon, but bad weather has moved after in the direction of the north of the country and has lost intensity.

The incidents have not caused victims, with only some material damage, especially in cars that have been caught up in the floods.

For Sunday, the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) provides for a rebate of the state of the time.
