It is the most important music season that exists in Portugal, and with each passing year, Risto Nieminen (director of the Music Service) aims to make it increasingly important for the city, for the region and for the people who inhabit one another. The stage of the Grand Auditorium is increasingly a world house and so the audience is intended to house the world that surrounds .

piano recitals are traditionally the most popular events of the season. The next cycle includes a dozen major performers and the opening could hardly be better: November 1, Nelson Freire , which recently made a superb recital in Sintra, plays Bach, the op. 111 Beethoven, Prokofiev and 3rd Sonata of Chopin! Among the remaining 11′s highlight Jean-Yves Thibaudet (November 24), Leif Ove Andsnes (6 December), Yefim Bronfman (December 14) and the first recital in the Gulbenkian “wonderkid” Benjamin Grosvenor , which so far in Portugal, only touched the Casa da Música. The “contingent” Russian has Trifonov (February 20), Sokolov (March 6) and Volodin (May 21).

The cycle that put the Gulbenkian Foundation in Route world music material also to contain more cross-cutting proposals.
