The musician BB King, considered the “king of the blues” and joining the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” in 1987, died Thursday at his home in Las Vegas, USA, aged 89, revealed his lawyer.
In early April, BB King was hospitalized after suffering from dehydration caused by type 2 diabetes who suffered for over 20 years and recently returned to be hospitalized.
Throughout his career, BB King was awarded 15 Grammy awards, and created a unique style that made him one of the most respected and influential musicians of the ‘blues’.
Los Angeles Times, the musician Eric Clapton said in 2005 that BB King was “universal” and can not be confined to a single genre. “That’s why I call it a global player,” praised Clapton.
