The Vilar de Moors Festival will again be held this year.
The event returned last summer after a gap of eight years but due to ‘organizational failure’, in charge of the Association of Friends of Autistic (AMA), will again not happen. “The AMA has expressed difficulties in complying with the default protocol with the previous and the current municipal executive, showed unpreparedness and inability to carry out a festival of this size,” said the President of Caminha Parish Council, Carlos Alves, the Lusa.
protocol signed just before the local elections of 2013 by the previous Social Democrat executive gave the festival organization to WADA, which together with the Board of walks and with the Board of Vilar de Moors Parish – owns the land – should assume this role until 2017. The Socialist however elected to the presidency of the municipality, Miguel Alves, convened for Friday a press conference talk about it but, contacted by Lusa , declined to confirm the cancellation of the festival and the end of the protocol established with that association.
At the end of last year’s edition, it was promised that the festival would be held on 30, 31 July and 1 August with a poster for ‘drag masses’. Carlos Alves justified the failure with the “failure” of the 2014 edition
