The first quarter of this year increased by 2.9 million euros and about 574,000 viewers in theaters, compared to the same period of 2014, according to the Cinema and Audiovisual Institute.
According to the ICA statistics, the increase exceeds twenty percent both in the number of spectators and box office revenue, driven by the results obtained in February.
Thus, between January and March trade exhibitions of film across the country recorded 3,331,713 viewers and EUR 17.1 million in gross ticket revenue.
“The fifty shades of Grey” by Sam Taylor-Johnson, was the most watched film of the quarter, with more than 490,000 spectators.
