“Cats have not vertigo” dominates Sophia Awards 2015 – Express

The movie “Cats have no dizziness,” the Antonio-Pedro Vasconcelos director, won Thursday nine of the 15 categories in which it was nominated for the 2015 awards Sophia, delivered at the Belém Cultural Centre in Lisbon.

“Cats have not vertigo” won four major awards, including best film, best director and best actress (Maria do Céu Guerra) and actor (John Jesus) key.

The film also won the best original screenplay prize (James Santos), best original soundtrack (Louis Cília) and best original song, entitled “Clandestine Love” by Ana Moura.O Antonio-Pedro Vasconcelos film also won in the categories of best fitting (Pedro Ribeiro) and better sound (Vasco Pedroso, Branko Neskov and Elsa Ferreira).

Have “The Maya – scenes of romantic life,” John Botelho, seen in theaters for more than 114,000 spectators in 2014, won in seven categories, including best actor and actress side attributed to John Perry and Maria João Pinho. The best artistic direction premiums (Silvia Graboeski), best cinematography (John Ribeiro), better characterization (Sano Perpessac), best makeup and hair (Sano Perpessac) and better wardrobe (Silvia Graboeski) were also conquered by “The Maya – scenes of romantic life.”

Have the prize for best short film documentary fit the “My Other Country” by Solveig Nordlund, and the best documentary feature film was given to the film “And now? Reminds me “, Joaquim Pinto.

The Cinema Portuguese Academy honored today Manoel de Oliveira at the Awards ceremony Sophia, showing films of passages of the vast work of the director, who died Thursday at his home in Porto, to 106 years.

The Sophia Awards were launched in 2012 to distinguish the professionals of national cinema by own peers, and include about two dozen categories. The Portuguese Film Academy was founded in 2011 and is chaired by producer Paulo Trancoso.
