It is the ninth time that the application for parole Mark David Chapman is denied

The man who killed John Lennon 36 years ago saw on Monday his request of parole being rejected for the ninth time. Mark David Chapman, 61, is being held in a high security prison in New York, United States.

Mark David Chapman was charged with second-degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment with the possibility of freedom parole after 20 years of completed sentence for murdering John Lennon.

the man, who pleaded guilty, was obsessed by the Beatles and by singer and fired five times on John Lennon outside the Dakota building on 8 December 1980. At the time, Chapman said insanity.

“Despite the many favorable factors, we consider that they are all overcome by the premeditated and obsessed nature of the crime,” said the panel that considered the application of probation in a statement, according to Reuters.

Since 2000, when passed 20 years of the sentence, every two years there has been an application for parole.

“we believe that the release would be incompatible with the welfare of society,” justified the members of the commission for parole.

Yoko Ono, wife of John Lennon, has written over the years several letters in which asks the probation Mark Chapman is refused.
