Bryan Cranston, Steve Carell and Laurence Fishburne in the new film by Richard Linklater – Spreads Facts

After the innovative Boyhood and the feel-good Everybody Wants Some , Richard Linklater is preparing a new project that will feature a cast filling steps. Bryan Cranston , Steve Carell and Laurence Fishburne are in talks to join Last Flag Flying , Linklater described as a “spiritual sequel” to the 1973 film, the Last Detail , Hal Ashby .

Based on the novel by Darryl Ponsican the Last Detail (1973) is played by Jack Nicholson , Randy Quaid and Otis young and tells the story of two naval officers who, in charge of leading to arrest a criminal young, enjoy the trip to some recreational stops.

in 2005, Ponsican published Last Flag Flying , romance sequel, which will serve as a starting point the Linklater . This time, the two soldiers, already retired, will try to help the ex-prisoner to bring back Iraq the body of his son, killed in combat. The mission will take them to again go through the original route between Norforlk and Portsmouth.

Last Flag Flying is an old dream of Linklater, that finally seems to be coming to fruition. However, the director must first get financing and distribution, with the Amazon Studios to emerge as the most likely candidate. If confirmed, filming will begin later this November.
