Primavera Sound brings new sounds – Correio da Manhã

Sigur Rós, PJ Harvey, Air and Brian Wilson, the brains of The Beach Boys are the biggest names of the poster revealed this Thursday to the Primavera Sound this year. The fifth edition of the festival, which is held in Park City, Porto, between 9 and 11 June, will bring together over three days almost five decades of the groups and more alternative artists of the current music scene.

Among some firsts and many return to home soil, the emphasis is on live performance of ‘Pet Sounds’ by Brian Wilson, one of the most influential albums of world pop. Animal Collective, Beach House, Deerhunter, Savages, Julia Holter, Destroyer, Parquet Courts and Ty Segall & amp; The Muggers are other names that promise to thrill the audience that hasten the three days of the festival.

For the nostalgic sounds of the 90s, the Primavera Sound proposes a luxury alignment. Representing grunge beginnings are Dinosaur Jr. and Mudhoney, accompanied by ‘noise rock’ of Explosions in the Sky, Shellac, Loop, Bardo Pond, Tortoise and Drive Like Jehu.

The reduced national phalanx to the event has Linda Martini as more resonant group, accompanied by Sensible Soccers and White Haus.
