Apollo 10 astronauts heard a “music world” on the far side of the Moon – SIC News

In 1969, two months before the historic Apollo 11 mission that led the first men to the moon, Apollo 10 entered the lunar orbit, which required travel to the side of the satellite that we never see here on Earth. On this side, it is impossible to communicate to Earth and, for about an hour, or astronauts or “earth” is able to see or hear.

It was always thought that the whole mission had gone smoothly. Until about 40 years later, the recordings were released audio revealed that the three astronauts of Apollo 10 had lived a strange experience when went through the dark side of the moon.

In the recordings you hear a ” strange music, out of this world, to be issued by radio Apollo module, “says a documentary of Channel Science,” NASA files to explain. ” The transmission of the sound lasted almost an hour and in the end, the astronauts were so surprised that discussed whether they would tell or not to Mission Control.

“It seems music from another world,” said one of the astronauts. “Did you hear that? This hissing sound? Whooooooooo!” Said another. “Well, this is even a strange music,” answers another.

The transcripts of the Apollo 10 mission were classified and were closed in NASA archives until 2008, when it began the debate on the origin of those strange sounds.

Speaking to US documentary, astronaut Alfred Worden mission Apollo 15, states that the crew of Apollo 10 was very trained to recognize all kinds of sounds they could hear in orbit.

One of the possible explanations for the strange music would be the interference of magnetic actions with radio signals, but there are experts who argue that the moon has no magnetic field and radio signals do not pass to the dark side of the moon .
