Sea parties return to the Bay of Cascais – publico

                 

                         
                     

                 

 
                         

Pluck Friday the Sea Fest in Cascais, with ten days of concerts in the Bay Area. This year’s poster includes a special performance of Trovante, returning to the stage after 24 years of separation.


                     

                         Organized by the Cascais City Council since 1965, in honor of Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes, patron saint of fishermen, the Sea Fest attracts every summer thousands of people to the village. The daily shows, free entrance, are the main attraction -. Annually, the council estimates that the parties attract around 500,000 people to Cascais

As usual, the poster affixed to local bands to open concerts, including after names like Clan (since Friday), Ana Moura (25), The Gift (29), Paulo Gonzo (26) HMB (28).

Pedro Abrunhosa acts Saturday and the concert will be recorded on DVD, to be released along with the next artist’s work.

On Sunday (23), the Trovante take the stage to remember hits like 125 Blue, Hopelessly, Timor, or Saudade. John Gil, Luis Dams, Manuel Faria, Artur Costa, João Nuno Dams, Zé Martins, Fernando Júdice and José Salgueiro gave terminate the lives of Trovante in 1991 but were gathering up punctually for some concerts. The last time the iconic Portuguese band performed together was in 2011 to mark the 35th anniversary of its formation.

The Symphony Orchestra of Cascais closes the festivities on August 30, day of the traditional fire-de- fireworks and procession in honor of the patron saint (15h). The authority authorized the operation of local businesses to midnight, and the Village Market (as well as restaurants that operate within this space) will be open until 2am.

The last year’s edition was marked by incidents on the penultimate day of holidays during the concert Anselmo Ralph, which resulted in three wounded. At the time, the chamber issued a statement to ensure that the clashes were immediately stopped by the police and ensured that Cascais “is and will remain a safe county to the major national and international events.”
