Cinema visits in July increased by almost 50 percent compared to 2014 – ICA – Digital Journal



The cinema visits in July increased 48.4 percent compared to the same month in 2014, adding more than 1.4 million viewers, according to statistics of Cinema and Audiovisual Institute (ICA).

Gross revenue from ticket last month grew 41.6 percent, compared to July 2014, up from € 4.9 million to 7, 2 million euros.

In total, this year, the cinema recorded eight million viewers and 7.2 million of revenue, an increase of more than twenty percent if compare with the same period of 2014 (January-July).

With the exception of January, every month this year registered an increase of spectators and revenue over the same period 2014, due to the box office results films as “furious speed 7″, “The 50 shades of Grey” and “Fun-mind”, the most viewed.

How debuted in late July, the comedy “The courtyard of the songs” Leonel Vieira, also enters the previous statistics to August, placing it as the Portuguese most watched film this year
