Mark Knopfler operates in CoolJazz Festival in July next year – iOnline

The musician Mark Knopfler, former leader and guitarist of the group Dire Straits, operates in Portugal on 28 July in CoolJazz Festival, Estádio Municipal de Oeiras / Poets Park, the organization announced today.

Knopfler will present his new work, “Tracker” in this 12th edition of CoolJazz Festival which takes place in July in Oeiras.

Knopfler is in the studio finalizing this new work with the band that has followed in recent decades, Guy Fletcher (keyboards), Richard Bennett (guitar), Jim Cox (piano), Mike McGoldrick (flute and piccolo), John McCusker (fiddle and zither), Glenn Worf (bass) and Ian Thomas (drums).

This new work includes the holdings of Ruth Moody, Bruce Molsky, Nigel Hitchcock and Phil Cunningham.

“Tracker” is the ninth solo album musician, a sequence that began in 1996 with the release of Golden Heart.
