It is mainly music that will make programming the Circus Theater until the end of the year, with performances from the likes of Joan as Police Woman and Kimmo Pohjonen, two usual attendance upon the national stage. The theater of Braga so start preparing the next year, it will celebrate its centenary, after a first half of 2014 which increased the level of activity and also the number of viewers.


                     


                          Musical proposals for the coming months beginning with the celebration of World Music Day, October 1, with the Portuguese Jafumega a “revival concert”, as announced by Director of Theatro Circo, Paulo Brandão. This month, between the 10th and 12th, there will be space for the festival of electronic music Semibreve and, the following month, Braga reach the most renowned names of the poster presented this week-end: the American Joan as Police Woman (November 7) and Finnish accordionist Kimmo Pohjonen.

Still in the musical field, the Circus Theater will again host performances of fado in the coming months, with Gisela João (November 6) and Carminho. Besides music, highlight the return of contemporary dance – the soil of romeo Runa The Old King is already reset next Thursday – and classical ballet, with the Lake Cines , the Russian Classical Ballet in December, a show that will, at the same time, the Municipal Auditorium of Olhão and the Tivoli in Lisbon. Two other shows announced for Braga also integrate into digressions of international projects for Portugal, cases of Peking Acrobats (November 23) and spectacle of theater Tribes , directed by Ulysses Cruz and actor António Fagundes in the lead role (5 October).

“Trying differently program is a very big challenge,” admits the director of Theatro Circo, Paulo Brandão, who earlier this year returned to the office , having a spacing of three years. “I’m trying not to repeat myself as a programmer and also that the public is not repeated.” In the first six months under his leadership, the theater of Braga has increased activity and public. By the end of July, the two auditoriums Circus received 175 events, 15% more than the same period last year. 43,300 spectators passed through there, which represents an increase of 21% over 2013′s result achieved “outweighs any corresponding period of the last three years,” stressed the manager Claudia Leite.

April 21, Theatro Circo celebrates 100 years of existence, it will be marked with a special program still being finalized and some new features like creating a program of Educational Service, hitherto nonexistent in Braga shows room.
