The former host of the Daily Show Jon Stewart followed in the footsteps of a familiar face that same program, John Oliver, and signed a production contract with a duration of four years with HBO.
This partnership will mark a new phase of Stewart’s career, with the production of short-duration videos for HBO NOW, HBO GO and other platforms, in addition to developing projects for film and television.
The first presenter of the project for HBO, Stewart will comment on current events, using new technologies that will help to produce digital content of short duration which will be broadcast on HBO NOW multiple times a day.
Other projects with John Stewart will be announced once they are confirmed.
“I am excited to be working with Richard [Plepler], Michael and All HBO team,” said Stewart. “Appearing on television 22 minutes at night killed me. I’m sure I can produce a minute content from now.”
