The queues around the Campo Pequeno in Lisbon, the sellers of scarves, the shopping center with a bigger rush than usual in the food court, it appeared that something extraordinary was about to happen. And it was no wonder: DAMA , the Portuguese sensation band, gave tonight the first of two concerts completely sold out in that space. In the audience, many fans, many fans, all quite young and all to take a very serious support and breathtaking admiration they have for musicians. One sees posters, painted faces, hands clasped, scarves wrists and few have been the mobile phone batteries that withstood both film, photography, snapchat and sharing of zillion emotions tonight caused.
At one time, and after a warm-up because of the increasingly popular DJ Van Breda , Kasha, Miguel Coimbra and Miguel Cristovinho, clung to the stage and the first beat to the last Applause gave their all, its maximum and, I dare say, its best to make satisfaction to the thousands of fans who longed for this show long ago. The audience was all the time in complete euphoria. The songs, even the new album, “Give me a second,” were already known. For some reason the second record already leads the national sales top two weeks ago, with the first album, “A Principle of Issue”, is also in the top ten.
Let me Lighten up Mind friend, are welcomed to the evil screams dim the lights and start with ‘Calm’, the new album. This was followed by ‘JNQFL’, already well known to the fans and jumping and running around from one side to the other stage soften to address the public: “What our songs are your songs” and soon begins another wave of unbridled excitement when asked: “There Luisas here?”. Suddenly, every Campo Pequeno fans were renamed just to feel that this love song is for them. ‘Louise’ was one of the overwhelming success of their debut album and practically not had to sing it; the entire audience was in charge of it.
The concert featured a stage design and sound production and special light, and have gathered on stage two dozen extra musicians and chorus of voices. The show was undoubtedly richer with the introduction of a horn section, choir and band. As for the guests, Mia Rose was the first to accompany the band on the theme ‘The Secrets in Silence’, with an extra dose of complicity at the time of split voices with Miguel Cristovinho.
continued the “Ballet” from the first album, with ‘Na Na Na’, and again, ‘I Know’, accompanied by nothing discreetly fortunately guitarist Rui Rodrigues. “Who takes pride in being Portuguese?”, Ask them to generate new moment of conversation. “Portugal is the best country in the world and we have been fortunate to be blessed because of you ‘, as they say with everyone screaming and reach two other highlights of the night: the duet with Little John ‘First Time’, and the already experienced and well-known John only in ‘Goodbye and Improvements’.
‘Sometimes’ and ‘The Greatest’ are other well popular and the concert begins to point to bid farewell to sound spectacular ‘I do not question’, the duet with Gabriel the Thinker (who was not here, it’s worth :)). Today, Friday the 13th, it was precisely the day chosen by DAMA to launch the music video of the song, filmed in Porto.
In his very energetic way (to rehearse from 15.00) and relaxed, Kasha, Miguel Coimbra and Miguel Cristovinho led to red and did not disappoint in whit their fans, they were also all the time to clap, to ask the audience to sing the chorus with them and that appeal was immediately matched by fans. More than 170 shows in 2015 and over one million people in live performances justify that nobody gets Campo Pequeno for pause. In Encore , the girls hug each other, exchange kisses and hit the pitch to dance with ‘Can not’. Then, as if wiping tears listening to the ‘Ballad of Awkward’, the song chosen to close because it was the one that actually launched them into the spotlight.
It should be noted that in addition to sing, the DAMA, are authors of the songs we sing in Portuguese, and the younger guarantee that they will never forget. Friday, 13. November 2015. D.A.M.A. It was a concert of many “firsts” for the public. And the experience was dream perpetuated by the goodwill that had to still give a kiss and an autograph to the wildest fans who came to try their luck in the entrance area artists.
