The first Rodrigo Leão disc for Deutsche Grammophon is also one in which the founder of the Seventh Legion and Madredeus realizes an old ambition: “The Retreat” was recorded with the Orchestra and the Gulbenkian Choir, which help the musician to explore other dimensions and participating the disc presentation concert tonight (21h) at Oporto Coliseum (tickets 20 € to 40 €). Contrary to what the title “The Retreat” may suggest, Rodrigo Leão has not been removed from the world and much less of the composition. It’s even an artistic phase particularly active, including the soundtracks of the films “The Butler” and “The Golden Cage”, the issue of e-album “The Secret Life of Machines” (2014) and collaborations with musicians such as Icelandic Ólafur Arnolds or the Italian Ludovico Einaudi.
