Bright colors, straight cuts, pleated dresses. This is how the designer Carlos Gil, who became known for dressing the First Lady, yesterday ended the first day of parades of the 45th edition of Moda Lisboa. On a day that was marked by Luís Carvalho, and his clothes fluids but where where the focus is on two young creators.
This year, for the first time, there were two winners in the category New Blood. Sara Santos, 22, Tania and Nicole, 24, won the contest dedicated to new talents. Sara won a 5000 euros grant and will make a five-week workshop in Milan and Tania will represent Portugal in a Dutch fashion festival next year.
After the young prospects, it was the turn of creators established as Luís Carvalho and Gil Carlos submit proposals for the summer spring of next year. Strong and fluid fabrics colors turn out to be some of the trends for the coming year.
Today is the turn of Miguel Vieira, Alexandra Moura and Ricardo Preto show their collections at the Town Hall.
The parades began yesterday, but Thursday was fast talks , a space for debate and reflection.
