Theaters, churches, museums, private homes, schools, palaces and some spaces usually closed to the public, will be open during this weekend, with free visits or guided by experts.
Premieres this year are, among others visitable buildings, the Palace of the Clock, the Ponte 25 de Abril, apartments in Chaves Defenders avenue, Loreto Gallery, a workshop on the sidewalk Old Post Office, the Institute Exhibition Pavilion Superior of Agronomy and the extension of the Lisbon Oceanarium – the Sea Building
The Mount Carmel Terraces, the Director of the Documentary Services and the Presidency Archive, Atelier Museum Júlio Pomar, the Garage Films and Central Collection Pneumatic Municipal Waste of Nations Park are other 70 spaces debut in this issue.
The initiative was launched in London in 1992 by architect and British curator Victoria Thornton, to make known areas of architectural and cultural value reference to a wide audience, and has gone through cities like Oslo, New York, Rome, Helsinki, Prague and Buenos Aires.
This fourth edition of Open House Lisbon has as commissioner Fernando Sanchez Salvador and coordination of Agnes Marques.
