The Appian Way, Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company, has reached an agreement with Paramount Pictures to make a film about the scandal of Volkswagen, which came to public attention last September. The German company installed a computer program on EA 189 engines used in diesel models of VW and Audi, which concealed the actual pollution issued by these engines. In all, about 11 miilhões cars worldwide will have equipment which distorts gas emissions.
Paramount longer have even bought the book rights to be written by the journalist Jack Ewing, the New York Times on the scandal and its developments. According to Variety magazine, who advanced the information has not yet taken any decision regarding the director and actors who will enter the feature film on the VW.
The producer of Leonardo DiCaprio, recognized activist for the preservation the environment, has been responsible in recent years by the arrival to the big screen blockbusters like The Wolf of Wall Street or Shutter Island.
