In this festival, the main stage is the castle of Sines but this weekend three shows a day take care of Porto Covo.
The poster for the nine-day World Music Festival, which today begins, it includes 47 concerts of different genres and geographies, in Porto Covo, until Sunday, and then Sines, until July 25.
The 17th edition of the World Music Festival (MMF) opens today doors with a Portuguese, as is tradition. It’s up to Janita Salomé begin nine days of music, at 19:00, in the Alentejo village of Porto Covo, followed by the Forabandit groups (Occitania / Turkey / Lebanon, 21:45) and Esko Järvelä Epic Male Band (Finland, 23:15).
The Portuguese musicians will ensure presence throughout the festival, with the collective Simply Rockers Sound System (20 and 21), the singer Ricardo Ribeiro (22), the multi-instrumentalist Bruno Pernadas (24), the rapper Capicua (24) and four DJs rooted Sao Tome, Blacksea not Maya and Marfox (24).

The latest edition of FMM received nearly 90,000 spectators and since 1999, have experienced Sines (and Porto Covo) about 850 thousand people.
