Calouste Gulbenkian Day
July 20, 1955 disappeared in Lisbon Calouste Sarkis Gulbenkian, engineer, collector Art and philanthropist of Armenian origin. The 60th anniversary of his death are remembered with a day of open doors in the foundation that welcomes his vast collection. From 14h, the spaces of the Museum and the Modern Art Centre (CAM) are open to the public. For 18h, in the Temporary Exhibition Gallery, is scheduled to inaugurate the exhibition of painting “Eye to Eye: Portrait in CAM Collection”. The program ends at the Open Air Amphitheatre, with the ceremony of the Calouste Gulbenkian Prize and a house orchestra concert, under the baton of maestro Jan Wierzba.
prints of Goya in Caves Calém
“Caprichos de Goya” is an exhibition that now you can visit the Caves Calém in Vila Nova de Gaia. The show brings together eighty engravings of the Spanish painter and represent a critique of the society of his country from the late eighteenth century. With these his works, Francisco de Goya (1746-1828) wanted to show their anger at the society of the time, blaming the vices of man and also the political institutions, especially satirizing the behavior of the clergy and nobility. The exhibition “Caprichos de Goya” is a production of WOW and ENP Entertainment and is open to the public until 1 November, daily between 10h and 19h. Entrance fee is 6 €.
