Lisbon, July 10 (AFP) – The albums and music singles go out always on Friday, starting today, according to a decision taken the world by the International Federation of the Recording Industry (IFPI) .
The aim of the decision, covering 45 countries, including Portugal, is to harmonize the day that major record companies publish music news. In the Portuguese market, the albums were so far published on Monday.
According to the IFPI, the decision was taken after having consulted musicians, publishers, retailers and industry associations, by perceiving the dispersion of dates “caused frustration among consumers,” before the favorite artists.
