It was with a Meo Arena bursting at the seams, to receive the British Florence and The Machine, the Super Rock said goodbye yesterday in large Nations Park, in Lisbon. After many initial doubts of how it would work space, the last day of the festival proved that, after all, a return to Tagus border, 20 years later, was the right bet, not only for the sellout (according to the organizers, were on Saturday 20 000 people in the room), but especially the way this whole crowd enjoyed the space
But let the music because that’s what it really is.; And there were many good surprises of last afternoon / evening festival, beginning to end, the aforementioned concert Florence and the Machine, which at the outset seemed the head of weaker poster of the festival, when compared to the likes of Sting or Blur, proved exactly the opposite, Florence Welch to assume a true stage animal, running, jumping and dancing at high speed in their flowing white robes, before an audience ecstatic with hits like Shake It Out or Dog Days Are Over , a reception that seems to have surprised the very English artist and direct entry to the best moments of the long history of Super Rock – how you could enjoy the photo exhibition, curated by photographer Rita Carmo, that on the ground floor of the Pavilion of Portugal recalled a journey of two decades of Super Rock from this increasingly distant year of 1995 when, at the Gare Maritime de Alcântara was initiated the modern age of music festivals in Portugal.
