Channel A&E cancels the series on the Ku Klux Klan – Diário de Notícias – Lisbon

canal A&E canceled the project “Escaping the KKK”, which followed a year and a half the leaders of the Ku Klux Klan, exposing the payments in secret, between these and some of the producers.

Less than a week after announcing the launch of a documentary series that followed a year and a half, some of the leaders of the Ku Klux Klan, the north american A&E back and, in the face of criticism that it has received from the public, reveals that it has will not issue the project in question.

In a statement, the station is not pointing to the feedback of the spectators as the reason for the cancellation of Escaping the KKK, which had as objective to try to convince the elements of the group to come out of this, or, at least, not forcing the children to integrate the motion associated with the ideals of white supremacy, racism and homophobia.

instead, the station explains that there was a problem behind the scenes documentary series: “our mission was to expose and combat the hate and the racism and all its forms. However, we learned that some of the producers made cash payments in the field for some members of the group to have privileged access”.
