Bon Iver, Aphex Twin and Justice in the Primavera Sound 2017 – TVI24

Bon Iver, Aphex Twin and Justice are the highlights of Primavera Sound will be 2017, at the Port, whose poster is admittedly "less commercial" and with the stakes of "calculated risk" on the electronics, said on Wednesday the director of the festival, José Barreiro.

"The highlights go to Bon Iver that presenting the acclaimed 22 million, your new disk at the end of five years without recording, and it appears with a job brutal. After the return of the magician of the electronics Aphex Twin, that it is a privilege to have you in the city of Porto, is an artist that rarely does live performances, was stopped about ten years ago (…) and Justice, which is the duo of French well-known that comes to make your electronics, with their new album", explained to Lusa, in a phone interview, José Barreiro.

For the director of the US Primavera Sound, the poster of 2017 is "less commercial”, it is "clearly a bet risk, but it is a calculated risk" and is "a festival that’s very difficult to find in any other space Portuguese or even internationally".

"Is an edition which promises a lot. It is an issue where there is a different positioning of the festival in which the bets are clearly more within the new sounds, of electronic, urban, hip-hop, soul, R&B and we wanted to make a poster of different and at the same time very attractive".

The duo Run The Jewels, the electronics of the chilean Nicolas Jaar, the sound of the british Skepta, r&b american Miguel, pop email, Metronomy, the dance music of Richie Hawtin are some of the other bets of the Primavera Sound, which, according to José Barreiro, presents a "melting pot of artists shining", following "the DNA Spring", with "all styles of music", from the classic rock Whiney, the solo adventure of Hamilton Leithauser (ex-Walkmen), passing by the folk pop of the american Angel Olsen or the music of the brazilian Elza Soares.

Death Grips, Lady Wray, Sleaford Mods, Nikki Lane, Jeremy Jay, Cigarettes After Sex, Bicep or Mano Le Though, the duo Japandroids, the californians The Growlers, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Swans, The Black Angels, or Shellac, are other names displayed on the poster.

The general pass for all three days of the festival, who arrived at Porto in 2012, is on sale for 100 euros, indicates the organization in a press release.
